It wouldn’t be a stretch to say Anthony Schwartz is the fastest man in the NFL Draft and I would kill to have an electronic 40 time on him at the Combine. What also made him interesting is one trait. Schwartz leapt to the top of our list after he said he had met/is meeting virtually with the Steelers during draft season. – Ran track at Auburn in 2019 for indoor and outdoor events, broke freshman record with 6.59 60m time – Named Gatorade National Track & Field Athlete of the Year In 2018 – Track star in high school, at IAAF U20 2018 World Championships in Finland, took gold medal in 4×100 relay and silver in 100m dash – Four-star recruit out of high school, had 21 offers, chose Auburn over Baylor, Florida, and Miami (FL) among others – Made Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks” list in 2020 – Career: 117 receptions, 1433 yards (12.2 YPC) 6 TDs, 42 rushers for 323 yards (7.7 YPC) 7 TDs – Three-year player for the Tigers, left after true junior season – Despite speed, wasn’t used as a returner – Gets jammed at the LOS when facing press coverage – Lacks strength to stalk block against CBs in the run game – Shows some ball security issues after the catch, too many fumbles ![]() – Didn’t run a diverse route tree, offense manufactured getting him the ball in space, ran mostly go routes as a receiver along with screen/three-step route tree – Straight-line player, track guy with great speed but struggles more when asked to break down and change directions in small spaces – Lean/slight frame, looks shorter than listed – Plus hands, catches ball away from frame and able to adjust to make catches, good-sized catch radius – Experience playing all three receiver spots, X/Z/F – Involved in run game, offensive threat in multiple facets – Functional space player, versatile and used on a variety of gadget plays, chess piece for an offense – Home run hitter, true deep threat defenses must account for – Tremendous straight-line speed, track star who translates open field speed on the football field, angle buster able to run away from anyone #1/#5 Anthony Schwartz/WR Auburn – 6’0 175 ![]() If there is a player you would like us to analyze, let us know in the comments below.
